COST OF MOVING A PIANO:
The cost of moving a piano will vary depending on many things, where is your piano located within your home, what type of piano it is, and how far away are you planning on moving it. As previously mentioned the type and size of your instrument will require different techniques and movers, for example with a bigger and more delicate one we will send you more people rather than when moving a smaller piano. Once you give us a call, we will come to look at it at your house and plan the move accordingly. The main pianos we deal with here at St George Moving are Grand pianos, upright ones, and spinet pianos. Making the average piano about 600 pounds, no wonder when needing to move one you have to call an expert in the field. |
WILL MOVING A PIANO PUT IT OUT OF TUNE?
No, unless moved improperly. If you try to move a piano yourself or ask someone that is not trained to do so not only it may end up getting your piano out of tune, but it could also break it. Pianos will also go out of tune if left in the wrong environment while moving, for example in a hot truck without the right temperature, or somewhere very dry/humid. A piano will need to stay somewhere where the temperature stays between 70 and 72 Fahrenheit. The temperature is not the only thing that could and will affect an instrument. Things like the amount of direct light and the quality of air will also affect it. Being such a delicate piece, it is essential to only handle it with the proper care and the right equipment. |
